The towns habour for tourist boating. The facilities are ultra modern and there are many restaurants and cafes.

The centre is mostly pedestrian with many bars, restaurants, clubs and shops.

Beach activities

Apart from relaxing on the magnificent beaches of the Algarve, there is much to do besides. Watersports including sailing, boating, windsurfing and water skiing; beach and offshore fishing; riding, tennis, bowls and of course, golf on the many superb courses situated throughout the Algarve.

Out & About

The Algarve has 3 large water parks and the world famous Zoomarine where dolphins and sealions perform daily. It is also well worthwhile exploring inland Algarve and the many Moorish towns and villages, where the traditional way of life continues. There is also a sand sculpture exhibition every summer near Algoz, which is well worth a visit.

Eating Out & Nightlife

Eating out is a delightful experience in the Algarve. There is so much choice, ranging from inexpensive restaurants serving freshly grilled sardines and other traditional Portuguese dishes like chicken piri piri, to establishments serving top class international cuisine. In between, there is a vast choice of specialist restaurants from Italian to Chinese. The wines of Portugal have improved tremendously during recent years and are now of a generally high standard but still offer very good value.
If it is night-life you are looking for, then Albufeira provides this better than any other area in the Algarve. The night spots are mainly situated on the eastern side of the town towards Praia da Oura, which is a 5 minute drive from the Old Town.
